Accreditation by the SA Local Government Bargaining Council

The Scheme is pleased to announce that it has received its 2021 Medical Scheme Accreditation from the South African Local Government Bargaining Council (SALGBC). 

 

We have had a positive experience for the 2020 year, reporting a net positive membership growth for the first time in several years during the SALGA window period. We are also happy to report that the Scheme has managed to improve membership retention through an intensive membership retention strategy maintaining very low attrition levels. We believe that this is reflective of the Scheme’s focus to improve member efficiencies, promotion of operational excellence and providing access to quality healthcare and wellness services.  On the financial front the Scheme continues to remain financially sound reporting a 34.48% solvency for the month of July 2020 and operating at a net surplus of R37.8million.

 

In our efforts to continuously improve the schemes position in the market and in line with the schemes strategic goals and objectives, the scheme has invested in the appointment of additional human resources for business development to support membership growth, retention and achievement of optimal service delivery to brokers and members, coupled with an intensive advertising and marketing campaign which will include outdoor, radio and social medial marketing.

 

We are confident that the scheme will remain a strong and competitive scheme within the SALGA environment and still embody our vision to Care for Life
